Alina M. Kolluri

Artist Bio:

Alina M. Kolluri is a Cuban-American paper doll artist and collector whose work draws inspiration from world cultures, historical costume, and whimsical subjects. A lifelong enthusiast of paper dolls, she began designing her own sets in the 1980s and has since created hundreds of paper dolls inspired by global traditions and folklore. Working entirely by hand, Kolluri is especially known for richly detailed cultural themes and imaginative designs.

Alina attended universities in Florida and Texas, receiving her bachelor's degree in 1986. She continues to create paper dolls from her home in Tampa. She first started selling her paper dolls at doll shows, and in the summer of 2002, her husband arranged for her first book, "Kimono Girls," to be published. More titles followed, and in 2015 she joined the Paper Studio Press stable of artists. She continues to create paper dolls from her Florida home for Paperdoll Review and her Friends4Keeps Etsy shop. Alina Kolluri was the artist feature in OPDAG's Paper Doll Studio News magazine, Issue 69 (2002).
